Silverdale Boarding School For The Gifted DO NOT REPLY

Jake ran along the halls heading for Mr Agles classroom before he left. He bumped into lots of other students on the way desperately trying to dodge them.
Jake watched Mr Agles close the classroom door and put his key into the lock.
"Mr Agles!" Called Maya.
"Yes Jake?" He asked.
Jake caught his breath and managed to force out the words," I'd like to help out with the halloween party!"
"Ok." He grabbed a peice of paper out of his pocket and quickly scribbled down Jake's name.
Jake sighed in relief, proud of himself for not having to make a trip to the staffroom.
No way am i asking in front of all of those teachers. Jake thought.

Hold on if i help with the halloween party i'll have to miss free period, which is one of my favourite lessons and i don't even know whether any of my friends are helping i'll wait and see and if they are i'll help with the halloween party too. Thought Maya.

Katia and Carter spent the whole of french writing Katias song into Guitar.
As the bell went Carter cheered,
''Yes, end of school, watch ya wanna do?''
''go to the gym''
''thats no fun''
''no to you, but i love working out...you'd probebly make tons of new friends, so go make some'' Katia said turning round the corner heading for the gym.

''Katias right, i mean look at me, why wouldn't anybody want to be friends with me?'' Carter was filling her head with these kind of thoughts and her eyes began to turn purple ''DAMN!'' she ran to the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror, her lip were turning black and her eyes were becoming outlined, as if she had gothic make-up on.
'oh i hate this part....i'm not the prettyest girl in school, no one wants to be my friend, why would they want to' she looked at herself again, her hair had turned black and had purple streaks in it.
''crud''
She left the bathroom dodgeing past people, sayin 'don't touch me' until she finally got to her room
''And ladies and gentlemen i present to you....PRIDE!'' she said pointing to herself

Maya heard the word 'Pride' said loudly in the room next door.
It sounds like the new girl katia's friend... carter isn't it. Maybe i should go and be friendly.
Maya walked next door and knocked on the door.
The new girl, Carter opened it.
"Hello?" Said Carter.
Maya found herself standing there not kowing what to say.
Maybe i should have planned this i'm shy and not good about meeting new people.Thought Maya miserably.
"I'm Maya." She said smiling.
"Carter," Carter replied.

Saphira sat in her room and chewed on one of the home made brownies that had arrived in the mail this morning. There was a letter from her mum and dad that came with it. She opened her bag and bag and started to do her french homework.

Alex sat on his bed and looked at the envelope in his hands. It was the letter he had found this morning from his dad. Did he want to open it? Would he rather have a friend near by? He closed his eyes and thought things over.

''hi'' she said to maya
''will you do youself a favour and take 3 steps back?'' she said, she didn't want to sound rude, but she was still in Pride form and she didn't want to risk touching her by accident.

"Hi, I'm Serra." Serra smiled at Carter, her roommate who seemed to randomly burst in shouting something.

Claire laid on her bed and looked at the black-and-white ceiling. She blew her fringe out of the way and hoped her roommates would arrive back soon.

Sophie was stuck in her room, she didn't know what to do. All she could think of was Alex, and the halloween party.
"I guess i could design my costume..." Sophie got a pice of paper and a pencil out of her bag and started to sketch different ideas.

Tyler took a handful of the notes from the package and handed it back to Kyra "I can't take this" he stuttered. He had never seen so much money in his life.
"Don't be stupid I got it for you" she said pushing his hand back. He tried to push it forward again but she stopped it. "Look this si your fee to enter the school and for your place, welcome to silverdale" he stared at her obviously believing that it was some kind of joke.
"Im serious" she said confirming that he wasn't dreaming. "You have been on the waiting list since we met and now all i have to do is pay. Welcome to silverdale" he examined the building carefully. "Sorry, i'm not smart enough for school. I have never been" he replied looking miserable. She had managed to keep it secret that this was a school for the gifted. He had only been there twice and hadn't noticed. She would break it to him slowly.

"Tyler please" she wailed as she grabbed his hand and made puppy dog eyes "Just try it for me please" she whispered pretending that she was about to cry. He sighed deeply and hugged her "Okay" he laughed. Kyra jumped as the door swung open behind them. Seth stood staring at both of them in each others arms. Kyra pulled away quickly..."Oh err hi Seth" she stuttered trying to think of what to say. She knew what it looked like.

Alex slowly opened the envelope, being careful not to rip it because it was sealed by his father. His father when he was warm and had a beating heart. When air filled his lungs and when his eyes sparkled with life.

Painfully slow was the process. He opened it and carefully pulled out a sheet of neat paper so as not to crumple it. He didn't unfold it but sat there staring at it and wondered what it stated.

''You too'' she said pointing to serra
''ok...now that thats resolved, what did you come in here for?'' she said looking at maya

"So anyway i just came to say hi and meet you," Maya said," Oh and i'm in room 102 next door with Katia."
I'm running out of things to say i better end the conversation or ask something.Thought Maya.
"So anyway want to go to the cafeteria i could get some of my other friends to come too." Maya smiled and waited for an answer

Serra decided to follow the instructions to be on the safe side, so she climbed up onto her bunk and started talking to them both from there.
"wait, did you say 102? Do you know Claire Avran? Shes my twin sister!" Serra smiled, she felt more like she was 10, not 14.

Alex sighed. No he didn't feel ready. After the first step he felt unsure and he carefully put the letter back into the envelope without reading it before getting up and putting it carefully in his wardrobe, under a pile of neatly folded clothes so that none of his roomates would find it. He heard his stomach rumble and decided to go down to the cafeteria for something to eat.

Seth raised his head slightly and approached them both. Kyra and Tyler turned bright red. "Err Seth this is not what you think" but both boys were ignoring her now and had eyes locked on each other.
"So...your'e Kyra's boyfreind"
"No, and you are?"
"Tyler"
"Pleased to meet you" Seth sneered as he stretched out his hand. That was it competition for the girl. It was like she was a prize. "Guys i am here!" Kyra yelled, she didnt want a war going on around her.
"Nice necklace" snarled Seth as he marched back up the steps and inside.
Kyra was angry, why shouldn't she get a new necklace and hang out wish who she wanted. She was not his property. "Want to come look around then?" aksed Kyra as she flung the door open and lead him right to her freinds.
"Guys this is Tyler" she said on approach gesturing to the boy behind her who was looking around at the alien building.

Saphira swallowed the rest of her brownie and smiled at Kyra's friend. He seemed nice enough. She had no idea what to say to him though as she was shy at heart. She went over to the wardrobe and pulled out a small shoe box.
"Erm... Brownie?"

"They look tasty! Did you make those?" Sophie didn't want to take too much incase they were special, so she just broke off a corner and savoured every little bite.
"mmm... they ARE tasty." Sophie was still eating it slowly, looking at Kyra's new friend.

Personality: Tyler likes Kyra, he is defensive to what he cares about and isn’t shy. His attitute needs a little adjustment. He must learn that life in school isnt the same as on the streets.
Short Bio: Tyler grew up in a dodgy area, he has never been to school and doesn’t really have a family or home. He will do anything that he has to even if it means breaking the law.

Other: His #1 enemy is Seth (hehe)

"These were sent to me from home. Have some more! They are my mums secret recipe and we have tons!" Saphira smiled and continued to chew.

Alex knocked and entered the room. He watched everybody chewing on brownies.
"Where'd all the brownies come from?" he asked. Saphira threw her coat over the box and grinned.
"From the magical Emperor of the Leprechauns. You just missed him!" she laughed and offered him a brownie as he rolled his eyes.

"So anyway want to head over to the cafeteria," Maya said shyly to Serra and Carter.
Maya paused to see if any of them would reply then she quickly said.
"I don't know whether many other people will come but it beats standing in doorways dying of thirst," Said Maya acting upon the dryness of her throat.
The detention at lunch time stopped me from drinking much because i rushed lunch and went straight to designing my costume. Thought Maya.

Carter looked in her hand mirror, her hair had turned brown again and her make-up was normal and her eyes only had a slight hint of purple in them,
''sure i'll come, i'm starving'' she said smiling

"Wait for me!" Serra laughed and jumped down from her bunk. She grabbed her coat and headed out to the cafeteria with the others.
"So, what are your powers anyway? I control the elements, and dark and cold. But i don't have much control over fire... So blame me when the school randomly goes up in flames..." Serra joked.

Josh decided to go see Saphira seeing as Alex had disappeared from his room. He had a feeling he would be with Sophie and Sophie was often with Saphira. Meaning they were all in Saphira's and Sophie's dorm. He looked around the door to see Kyra, Sophie, Alex, Saphira and a boy he had not seen before all crammed in eating something.
"IT'S THE EMPEROR OF THE LEPRECHAUNS!" somebody screamed and everybody burst out laughing.
What? Josh thought and looked at what Sophie was holding. A brownie. That made sense. In a kind of hyper end of the rainbow kind of way.

Sophie laughed at the leprochaun comment and looked at everyone being squished into the tiny room.
"What? Are we having another party or something? Nobody told me!" Sophie joked and finished her brownie.

"Well i am a counjourer which means i can turn my own drawings plus pictures out of books into reality, i control water and i am telekenetic," Said Maya. Maya demonstrated her water power by smaking some of the drink in her glass stream into her mouth, "But i guess you can do that too." Maya said hanging her head no longer feeling unique.
Maya grabbed her sketchbook she had planned to draw her necklace for the halloween party. She looked at the book of symbols and perfectly sketched the symbol for water and then the delecate string. She focused on the picture and let it become blurry. A few seconds later the necklace was laid out in front of her in the same position it had been in on the sketch.
"What do you think?" Said Maya trying on the necklace.

Saphira fed a small chunk of brownie to her mouse and smiled.
"No party. Unless it's a welcome to our crazy world Tyler party!" She laughed. Everybody was eating the brownies and that made her happy. She loved to share, especially when it was something like the brownies she used to help make when she was little. She wondered if Ruby had helped make them.

She doubted it. For Ruby refused to have nothing to do with poor Saphira now.
