Silverdale Boarding School For The Gifted DO NOT REPLY

Alex brushed the water out of his eyes and dumped his bag in his room before heading to the girls dorms. The last time he had seen Sophie was at breakfast. He had had two belly dancing dreams in a row now and he was hoping that Sophie wasn't going to end up sharing all of them because after a while it would be hard to hide them.

He reached room 101's door and knocked.

Kyra was bored. The staff were in a meeting right now and the main office was empty. She had already noted the pin on the door so she casually walked up to it, looked around causiously and enetered the room whguch smelt of coffee.

This was strictly against school rules and if she was caught she would be thrown out of the school for sure. She was looking for the record files but there were so many filing cabinets she had no idea where they could be. She began to search through each filing cabinet carefuly and identified the ones for lower school. That meant that the ones on the left side of the room had to be upper school.

Saphira and Josh answered the door. They were eating brownies again and they stepped aside to let Alex in. He saw the empty box and smiled. It looks like these two had just chewed up the last few. The room was much less crowded then yesterday yet it still reminded him of the dream and he ended up looking behind him just to make sure there were no leprechauns.

He thought himself an idiot for doing this instantly because everybody knew there was no such things as leprechauns.

Kyra opened the top of the first filing cabinet and noted that the files were in alphabetical order or surname. She was about to close the door when she noticed a file, Bates Tyler. She conidered opening it but she had no idea if it was the Tyler that she knew or not. Voices and silloutes at the door stopped her search. She frantically closed the filing cabinet and looked for a place to hide. She decided that in a corner behind a large potted plant was best. The door opened and a man sat down at the desk in the centre of the room. Apparently she was unnoticed.

"Right we'll be going now a lot more people to meet see you later," Maya called and waved.
"Erm... who is he?" Asked Emma. Maya blushed,"So you like him then?" Maya turned redder.
"Right! Who else should we see," Maya said quickly changing the subject,"I think we should go see if anyone is in their rooms."
Maya lead Emma back to the girls dormitory and knocked on the door of room 101.

Katia walked through the gates and headded for her room, maya was knocking on 101s door with some other girl Katia figured was new, Katia entered her room and pulled out a easel and canvas and started painting.

Saphira heard a knock on the door again and swallowed the rest of her brownie. She pulled it open with a wide smile to reveal Maya and somebody she didn't recognize.
"Sorry Maya, Josh and I just finished the brownies."

Alex sat on Saphira's bed (bottom bunk) and twiddled his thumbs. It looked like Sophie wasn't here. He would leave soon.

"What again? I was late last time too!" Maya joked," Anyway i brought you here to meet my friend Emma!"
"Hi," Emma said and smiled.
"So anyway i think i just saw Katia head back to our room so i'll go say hi to her!" Said Maya.
"Oh and by the way," Said Maya turning to Emma,"This is Saphira." She said pointing to Saphira.
Maya walked over to her room and dragged Emma in to meet Katia.
"Hi Katia meet Emma!" Said Maya.

Kyra slowed her breathing even though her heart was racing. "It has come to my attention that there are soon to be inspectors coming to the school" said a stern voice. "Yes i am aware of these plans but what can we do about the situation James?" said another voice belonging to a person with blue shoes. "I dont know" replied the man sat in the chair. "there are inspectors coming too soon. There is no time to do much..."
"Call an emergency assembly now!" demanded the voiceas he stood up and both people exited the room.

Kyra couldn't believe what she had just heard. They couldn't have inspectors in power classes with people accidently blowing things up !. There was going to be an emergency assembly in one hour and she was going to be there. Her previous plans could wait.

Saphira waved as Maya and the other girl left the room and she opened the window. She summoned the little bird again and told it she was sorry it didn't get any crumbs from her. She then lifted it down into the brownie box where it pecked up the little crumbs of pastry.

Kyra took a seat around the countless students who were mumbling phrases like "whats happened?" or "whats all the fuss about" she had a feeling that she was the only one who knew. She was one of the first inside and people would be flooding in for the next 15minutes at least.

''hey..'' she said holding up her bandaged hand in a slight wave then continued painting, she wasn't painting anything in paticular, just random shapes in dull colours.

Alex sprang up. He was too tired to just sit here. He couldn't be bothered to carry on looking for Sophie and he hadn't got any sleep last night.
"I've got to go." he said before heading to his dorm and sitting on his bed with his back on the wall.

"I like your painting," Said Emma.
"Yeah me too!" Maya smiled.
"Right anyway i'm not in the mood for rushing around school anymore i want to do some drawing i just don't know what to draw!" Said Maya.
"Draw me!" Said Emma.
"You can't sit still for that long!" Maya joked.
"Draw my double," Said Emma concentrating and within a few seconds a perfect double of Emma was staring at Maya.
Emma instructed her double to sit still and Maya grabbed her easle and canvas and started to paint.

Soon Alex was asleep again and he knew before he drifted away that he was destined to dream about things he didn't want to know about.

This time Alex didn't scream but he shot up and rubbed his eyes. He wished his dreams were normal and he hoped that Danny wouldn't come and read his mind as he had them.

Kyra sat impatiently waitign for everyone to arrive.
"Students, a little quiet please" shouted the head as she banged her hand onto the desk infront of her. The hall fell silent.
"For those who are not at this assembly i expect them to find out, so please tell them as it is very important." she began.

"We are having inspectors which has forced a few temporary changes in school. Powers and magic class will comense as normal HOWEVER when the warning bell goes off in class you will be expected to stop all paranormal activity and return to your desks where you will study the fascinating history of broccolli" the whole hall began to giggle as she continued to announce the new printings of timetables and codes that are to be used. "There will be no magical activity in corridors , for the week the inspectors are here; magic will only be used under restricted circumstances" she announced. At the end of her lecture she asked for any questions.

"Right done!" Said Maya who had become very quick at painting sometimes,"Well its just a quick painting but it helped me practice painting skin tones."
"Thanks Maya!" Said Emma picking up the canvas.
"Wait it's still wet!" But it was too late Emma had paint on the sleeve of her jacket.
She focused on her double who dissappeared.
"Right i'll change my top then you can tell me where the laundry room is!"

Saphira and Josh hurried over to the assemblie and got in just as the head began talking. When it came to everybody asking questions their minds went blank which is natural really.

Alex banged his head against the wall. Where was everybody lately? They had all gone somewhere. He got up and looked for some paper. He was going to draw.

Emma pulled her jacket out of the washing machine, folded it and ironed it.
"Hey Maya and friend," Jake said smiling at Maya and Emma, "Were having an important assembly the head seems pretty annoyed."
"Oh god what happened!" Said Maya.
"I don't know!" Said Jake," But the assembly has already started.
"Right!"
Maya, Emma and Jake hurried over to the hall and sat on the same row as Saphira and Josh.

"I have a question. What about those who can't control their powers?!" called some girl in the front row. Josh frowned and remembered Katia and Carter. What was to become of the school if they lost their tempers?
"If you think you might be a danger to the school then you will be sleeping in the sick bay." called out the head.

Everybody shivered.

"I hate the sick bay it smells funny," Jake said making Emma laugh.
Maya frowned at the fact that inspectors had to poke their nos ein everything.
"What if the inspectors ask to see your timetables?" Asked Maya.
"We will be issuing false ones for a while s history of magic will just become history," Replied the head.
Maya sank into her chair she felt as if this was going to be a very strange few days.

Katia sat down near the back of the hall and didn't really pay attention to the peopl speaking until someone asked about not being able to control their powers, she looked around the hall and spotted Carter, who didn't really seem to be on the same planet as everyone else, she looked as if elevator music was going on in her head, she was too far away to read her mind, everyone elses mind seemed to have gone quiet.
Katia also noticed some people looking at her, as if to say 'what if she loses her temper' Katia felt like smacking them all, but they had a point, what if she DID lose her temper?

"All magic related books are to be removed from the library and all written work about it will either be shredded or stored away. You all must hide any evidence of your powers." called the headteacher over everybody muttering to their friends.

Saphira felt scared and excited. So when were they going to come?

"If you feel that you cannot control your powers or that you are going to blow then you will be sent to the school's psychatrist or to a calm room. We have 10 calm rooms available" said the head to everyone in a serious tone.
"What about the posters and signs around the school?" asked a student.
"They will be replaced by posters about malnutrition, healthy eating and of course algebra!" she stated.

Maya became more and more worried with every question.
I can't stand this it's just making me feel worse! Thought Maya.
She pulled her ipod out of her pocket and started listening to her favourite song to calm her down. She only had one earphone in so she could hear anything important in her other ear.
